These varieties are best suited the more temperate regions of New Zealand, as they have high winter chilling requirements (Chilling requirements - approximately 1000 hours under 2º). They are vigorous shrubs growing from 1-3m or more tall, bearing clusters of dark blue berries from December through to mid February depending on variety. Most are self fruitful but perform better planted near another Northern Highbush variety. These varieties flower in mid spring.
